Tacoma/Pierce County Community Supported Agriculture (CSAs)

When we lived in Atlanta we joined Oakleaf Mennonite Farm’s Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program – and loved it! For those unfamiliar with CSAs, they are generally local farms which grow produce organically. Before each growing season you can sign up to be a weekly/bi-weekly customer who picks up whatever the farm has been able to grow over that time. These farms employ local farmers, are good for the environment, often contribute to social justice issues like bettering urban nutrition, and provide relatively cheap food which is good for you! Since moving back to Tacoma we’ve been talking about joining a local CSA, but have been delayed in doing so. So, to help us (and you!) become a part of a growing movement of local grassroots communities committed to food justice and sustainability issues, here is a list of CSAs which serve Tacoma and/or Pierce County. Let me know if I’ve left any out in the comments and I’ll add them to the list!

My wife and I have been looking at joining one up in the SeaTac area. We just haven’t moved on it yet.
